The first step of a good brew is effective milling to ensure:

​

  • Husk preservation for effective lautering. 

  • Good husk preservation ensures an even and speedy run off from your lauter run which assists in the prevention of preferential flow during lautering, resulting in incomplete extract recovery.

  • Maximal endosperm crush while preserving husk size.

    • This ensure maximum extraction of the starch for conversion in the mashing vessel which results in a speedy and complete starch conversion​

    • The hard distal ends of the endosperm is always a challenge with the incorrect milling solution
